Birmingham South Support Group

Established in 1979 as a local branch of the Parkinson's Disease Society, the Parkinson's UK Birmingham South Support Group has spent 47 years building a compassionate, supportive community across South Birmingham. Our mission is to provide a caring social network that uplifts members, families, and friends living with Parkinson's.

We organise a wide range of therapeutic, physical, and social activities designed to promote well-being and connection:

  • Therapeutic & Active Groups: Extend Exercise classes, Dance for Parkinson's, Tai Chi, and a regular Walking Group.

  • Informative Meetings: Monthly gatherings, frequently featuring guest speakers sharing practical guidance and insights.

  • Peer & Carer Support: Informal Parkinson's Cafés and our dedicated Carers' Natter sessions.

  • Social Connections: A Singing Group and regular celebration meals out.

We welcome anyone affected by Parkinson’s in the South Birmingham area. We are part of Parkinson’s UK, but rely on local donations to directly fund our regional activities. Whether you are newly diagnosed, a family member, or a long-term carer, we’re here to listen, support, and help you navigate your journey.
